What are chakras?

The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC, in one of the oldest texts, called the Vedas. The Vedas are the earliest Sanskrit literary records and ancient scriptures of Hinduism.
Chakra from Sanskrit translates to 'wheel' or 'disk' and refers to the spiritual energy centre within the body.

Where are they?
There are seven main chakras within the body along the spine, neck and the crown of your head. Within each chakra is 'prana' which is the ultimate healing energy that keeps us healthy, happy and balanced.

What's their purpose?
They each correspond to specific organs, as well as physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual states of being, and they influence all areas of your life.
If they become stagnant, unbalanced or blocked it prevents the 'prana' flowing within your body and can cause emotional, physical or psychological issues.
